RUSSIAN HILL CONDO: PRIMARY RESIDENCE INTERIOR DESIGN RENOVATION
COMPLETING A HOME, CUSTOM DESIGNED FOR A CLIENT’S ERGONOMIC NEEDS
Our client wanted an update to her bedroom, as it felt out of sync with the rest of her home which is modern, tasteful, and full of books that she loves, and artwork from friends. She desired a space that would be an elegant, modern oasis, a retreat for reading, relaxation, and rest. She wanted to be surrounded by objects that gave her joy and space for artwork and photographs of loved ones.
The owner is petite and wanted a space that would address her ergonomic and everyday needs in the golden years. Our client trusted us to understand her needs, and create a bedroom that would complete her home, and be in sync with her taste. The bedroom had to fit the rest of her home. We carefully customized the height of all the furniture selected. The bedside tables and wall sconces were mounted with her height and reach in mind. We chose drawers and open shelves for storage, which are easy to access. A tight wool carpet was added that provides stability, but is also soft. A lighting scheme was designed to bring more light during the day, a warm glow in the evening, and enough light to read her beloved books in bed or in her reading chair.
For the dining room, we installed sturdy wood bookcases that complemented her existing living room interiors. We added a small Saarinen black oak tulip dining table by Knoll that perfectly complemented existing Josef Hoffmann vintage chairs.
